About PBC

Welcome!

Founded in 2010, Passive Buildings Canada was Canada’s first national non-profit organization supporting the passive house community to build a more sustainable Canada and planet.

Unsurprisingly we are passionate about the Passive House standard of low carbon, energy efficient buildings. We aim to grow the low-energy-building movement and build a more sustainable, healthy Canada, and planet. Our vision is that all Canadian buildings will be durable, energy efficient and comfortable through the use of passive house principles.

Passive Buildings Canada shares passive house knowledge and experience to assist Canadians in reducing building energy consumption, and carbon emissions. We value open, honest, and respectful discourses informed by rigorous, practical building science and seek to connect with other organizations to strengthen the low-energy building movement. We are a volunteer organization by passive house enthusiasts for passive house enthusiasts.

You can support our work, get involved, (and get some great perks) by becoming a member!
